Issue:
I cannot open Mimecast attachments

Some 3rd party email applications such as the Microsoft Mail app will remove Mimecast attachment data when displaying the email message. This often results in the attachment icon looking like a generic sheet of paper and cannot be opened when clicked on.

The solution to this is to use a web browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox) to open the Mimecast email message in your email provider’s web portal such as Google Gmail, Yahoo mail, Comcast mail, Apple mail, etc.

Inside the email provider’s web portal, the Mimecast email attachment should open correctly. Sometimes the link to download your attachments may be shown at the bottom of the email page depending on the email provider.
